The Hokku stanza was written by Matsuo Basho (1644 - 1694). The Ageku stanza was written by me. It is autobiographical.

  1. Oh yes. Many years ago coming home one night (by motorbike) the frost settled on our legs.
Coming home to a home with no heat (and no hot running water) we lay face down on the bed (electric blanket turned on) and whimpered.
I still prefer cold to heat though.

    1. Overall, so do I. Except for driving on icy roads and being without heat.
