The Gothic Greek Giant: An Evocative Espinela

I don't know if he's very Gothic, but he is large and greenish.

I saw the Gothic Greek Giant
taking giant strides cool and slow
I don't know where he wants to go
laid back, but never compliant

although he is not defiant
the giant will never conform
he doesn't need to be the norm
he just wants to do his own thing
to paint pictures or sometimes sing
or just hang out and watch a storm

  1. I have a huge weakness for elephants - and wish they could be left alone to do their thing (whatever it might be).

    1. Agreed. The Denver Zoo used to have elephant rides, and I didn't know at the time that it was very stressful on the elephants. The elephant my then-husband and I rode on was a benevolent bull. Maybe he was used to people enough that he didn't mind awfully, but I'm still sorry for my ignorance.
Fortunately, they learned and stopped the practice. At this point, their elephant area is one of the best in the U.S.
